Reader Friendly: Event Leviathan #3 and 4

I've finally caught up. So Brian Michael Bendis' first event for DC has an issue where it spins it wheels, but a better issue that speeds up the plot. So the through line for this series basically has a bunch of character describe an event that happens in the past tense and have the characters talk it about it in the rest of the issues. Let's begin with issue three, it's a continuation from where issue 2 left off with the team of detectives (Batman, Robin, Lois Lane, Green Arrow, Question, Plastic Man and Manhunter) chasing the Red Hood, believing him to be Leviathan, the new leader of the organisation also called Leviathan. It tunrs out to be a false lead which leads the characters to think Amanda Waller is Leviathan, but that also turns out to be a false lead as well. That's the problem I had with that issue as it was just characters standing around and discussing who is Leviathan. While they do try to make clues, but they weren't really clues. I did enjoy how Bendis writes the characters. Gives them different voices with personality which I had a fun time to read.

But I found issue four an improvement, the plot moves along, we had Superman tell the detectives about his encounter with Leviathan and how he lost him and how Amanda Waller got taken. It then introduces Silencer, a character who was in a solo series that also involved Leviathan, we get headway of where Batgirl is at and a pretty good twist at the end which I would not spoil, read it for yourself or look it up. We get some character development for Manhunter, Kate Spencer.

Event Leviathan seems to be heading towards it's last two issues, but it still has problems with it's mystery and how it's shows clues to the audience. The groups of characters in this series are fun to read and do wish Bendis continues to write these characters in some future books.
