Watch This Space: Quick Think: Is Elseworlds a TV Crisis on Infinite Earths

So those CW DC TV shows are pretty good right? I mean there not perfect, it's no Daredevil or Batman: The Animated Series, but pretty good. Some shows quality varies between shows, but pretty entertaining. I always look forward for the crossovers they do before the Christmas season. There just like crossovers in comic books, very fun with big moments, last year's one was great and this one looks pretty fun. We have Superman coming back, the introduction of Batwoman played by Ruby Rose, John Wesley Shipp returning as the original live action Scarlet Speedster and the introduction Monitor and Psycho-Pirate, which let off a few warning signals in my nerd mind. Could this be a stealth adaptation of Crisis on Infinite Earths.

What is Crisis on Infinite Earths?

The year was 1985 and DC was approaching its 50th Anniversary, so to celebrate they made a miniseries written by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, hot off their New Teen Titans comic book series, called Crisis on Infinite Earths, one of the first event series which changed the DC universe with the changes still being felt today. Worlds lived, worlds died and nothing would be the same again. The story had nearly every DC character every ever, from Anthro the caveman to Kamandi, the Last Boy on Earth, from characters from the companies DC bought out and even to the obscure like, Jonni Thunder. Some of the most important characters in the story will be used in this story. But I'll get into that later...

Why I Think This (Insert Thinking Emoji Here)

So why do I think this. Well I have many reasons for thinking this. In this season of the Flash, we have Nora, Barry's daughter from the future talk about future events and often drops reference to Supergirl, who lives on another Earth (because multiverse and it was on another channel before it jumped to the CW). So in my head, I think they could merge the Earths together, like how the original Crisis ended. We also have characters like the Monitor who was driving force in the original Crisis and many other multiverse stories and Psycho-Pirate who remembers the infinite Earths, even after all the reboots. We also have the Flash and Supergirl, who died in that event, so maybe leave that out. We also have the original Flash from the 90's TV series meeting the current live action Flash, where the Crisis had Golden Age Superman meets then-current Superman. Elseworlds was also the imprint where DC made several stoires which were told outside continuity and go out there. They made stories like what if Superman was Russian, what if Batman was in Victorian London and what if Wonder Woman... They never did a Wonder Woman Elseworlds. This crossover will involve more what if scenarios. The CW did do Flashpoint, but scaled down, because that story involved a lot of DC.

Now could this crossover be an loose adaptation of Crisis on Infinite Earths. No. Crisis on Infinite Earths is big and involves almost nearly every facet of the DC universe, it's almost hard to do in live-action. But it can still make reference to it and make it one in spirit. Will this point be redundant after the crossover is done. Yes it will.
