Watch This Space Quick Look

So, there's been a lot of trailers being dropped like bombs over Baghdad and I want to make that quick glimpse of internet fame and I'm going to write my quick thoughts on one of these trailers in a little spin-off blog called Quick Look. So let's look at one of the films I've excited to see this year. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Cast and Characters I love the cast they garnered for this film. The characters we've see in the trailer are great. Shameik Moore fills the Miles Morales role really great and his works off well with Brian Tyree Henry as his father. I could her Miles' mother in the trailer, but I can see their focusing on the father-son relationship. Jake Johnson does feel like a grown up Peter Parker as a slacker, but I'll talk about that later. Only fear is that Peter Parker overshadows Miles, but I'll wait and see. We have Hailee Steinfeld make an appearance as Spider-Gwen, possibly teeing up for a sequel, if they make money though.

Animation Style I love the cel shading style of this. It fits the comic book style, that some live-action films try to emulate, but only in story. I like the little touches of comic onomatopoeias' as well. I love the use of colours, makes each scene pop in the certain aspects. Characters designs are very cartoony, Peter Parker really does look like if Peter Parker was still doing Spider-Man if he was still doing it from his teens. We get a brief flash of the Kingpin (played by Liev Schrieber) and he looks cool.

What Could Happen? So let's delve into plot speculation. Because film discussion on the internet will devolve into guessing the plot. So it looks like it's a standard hero's journey. Miles will have to come into his own by fighting Kingpin, Prowler will be the secondary muscle for him. Have a Peter acting as Mr. Miyagi for Miles, also Spider-Gwen will only appear in a few scenes, mostly to tease the sequel.

These have been my thoughts on this trailer that's been released recently.
